NMBP-35 Workshop on Characterisation & Digitisation: Workshop Report and Presentations
On 17 January 2024 CHARISMA, NanoMECommons and EASI-STRESS hosted their joint exploitation event in Madrid.
The agenda featured three sessions, including industry talks, discussions on the vision of European Materials Modelling and Characterisation Councils, and insights into current opportunities for industry from research facilities and projects.

In collaboration with WP7, WP3 is currently finalising preparations for the Round Robin 2 while also focusing on discussions regarding presentation content for ICORS 2024 where CHARISMA will hold its second Raman School as well.
Encapsulae has formulated functional antimicrobial coatings based on the additive AS020P for application in polymeric food contact films. Thus, it has applied the coatings according to the migration regulation on polyethylene films. The antimicrobial functional properties have been studied in vitro achieving optimal results, which encourages in vivo testing. Raman spectroscopy is being used to study the arrangement of the coating (thickness, distribution of components, arrangement of phases) as well as the presence of the AS020P additive and the form in which it is found according to the degree of hydration.
WP7 (led by UNE) conducted the CEN Workshop to develop a CWA (CEN Workshop Agreement) for āRaman devices calibration, verification and twinning protocols on 28 February 2024 (also see below for more information). The expected date of publication for the two CWAs are considered to be around September 2024 after the consensus process.
CEN Workshop on āRaman devices calibration, verification and twinning protocolsā
Led by UNE and CHARISMA, manufacturers, users, and researchers in Raman spectroscopy from both European and international backgrounds convened for the inaugural meeting of the CEN Workshop āRaman devices calibration, verification and twinning protocolsā on 28 February 2024.
