Project newsletter #6
May 2025
Welcome to the 6th edition of the IMPROVE newsletter! How quickly time has passed. IMPROVE started nearly three years ago. This means we are nearing the end of our project’s lifetime, and the project is buzzing with activities. We are finalising our work on the training platform, our policy handbook, the chatbot and more!

The IMPROVE project's significant real-world impact has recently been celebrated with several prestigious awards. In Spain, the project was exceptionally recognised, receiving the University of Deusto's 2025 Social Impact Label for social transformation, a USEC Award, and a national "Good Local Practices" award, with the latter two honouring our collaborative work with local police and the AinoAid™ chatbot. Topping these successes, our AinoAid™ tool has also been nominated for the European Commission's highly respected 2025 Security Innovation Award. You can read more about all of these achievements on our website.
In March, our project consortium met in Grenoble at the facilities of CNRS /PACTE. We prepared the last 6 months of IMPROVE to achieve the maximum project impact on fighting domestic violence. Thank you, Margarita Vassileva and Thierry Delpeuch, for having us!
Evaluation of training platform finished
We are pleased to announce the successful completion of the evaluation for the IMPROVE project's training platform on domestic violence. The evaluation was a major success, engaging 652 frontline professionals and students across seven countries, more than doubling our original participation goal. The valuable findings and feedback gathered will now be used to optimise the final platform and develop the project's forthcoming guidebook on effective teaching.
We are excited to announce that the handbook for Work Package 4 is currently in development. This key publication will summarise the extensive work and findings from WP4, translating our research into practical applications. Crucially, it will connect these outcomes to policy, providing valuable insights for future development and implementation. Stay tuned for more information on its upcoming release.
